Watchmaker Credentials

Trained Where Swiss Watches Are Made

Our master watchmaker is a certified watchmaker who spent nearly ten years as a full-time technician at a Swatch Group service center — the Swiss conglomerate behind Omega, Longines, Tissot, Hamilton, Rado, and Blancpain. That decade of hands-on work means deep expertise on the very movements most Swiss watches carry, from everyday ETA calibers to co-axial escapements, tourbillon complications, and high-end in-house calibers. When your Omega or Longines arrives at our bench in Springfield, it's handled by someone with factory-level certification and real-world experience. Combine that with our standing as the sole U.S. authorized Seagull repair center and our direct supplier relationships with Peacock and Hangzhou watch movements, and there are very few watches — Swiss, Japanese, German, or independent — we haven't seen from the inside.

Specialist Complication Service

Tourbillon Repair & Service

Tourbillon service is among the most exacting work in the watchmaking world. A flying tourbillon cage contains 70–100 individual components — each must be disassembled, cleaned under magnification, inspected for wear, lubricated with micron-precision oils, and re-assembled and timed to factory spec. Our master watchmaker performs all tourbillon work personally, on a single bench, in Springfield.

The majority of tourbillon work we see is Seagull ST8000 series, Peacock, and Hangzhou-based movements — and this is where we have the deepest capability. As the sole U.S. authorized Seagull service center with direct Peacock factory cooperation, we hold genuine tourbillon parts inventory and can source replacements at factory cost. Swiss tourbillon inquiries are welcome; those are individually assessed and quoted after bench diagnosis.

Diagnostic bench fee

Done in Springfield, by Hand

Every watch sent to TimeVault is opened, diagnosed, and serviced in our Springfield, Illinois workshop — by us, on a single bench. We don't subcontract. We don't ship work out. The watchmaker who diagnoses your piece is the same one who services it, regulates it, and packs it for return.

What We Don't Service

We don't service antique or vintage watches — parts availability for older pieces is too unpredictable to guarantee results. Smart watches and replica/counterfeit watches are outside our scope entirely.

We also don't take on full restoration projects — dial refinishing, case re-plating, hand fabrication of obsolete parts, or severe-condition rebuilds. For full restoration, we recommend a specialist restoration workshop.

Note on quartz watches: We service high-end quartz movements (valued over $200) and perform battery replacements — including brands such as Movado, Tissot, Longines, Cartier, and similar prestige quartz pieces. We do not service Eco-drive, digital, or solar watches. For qualifying quartz watches, we encourage multi-watch submissions to make the most of a single order.
