Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms
By submitting a watch for repair through Sangamon TimeVault ("we," "us," "our"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not submit a repair request.
2. The Bench Fee
A non-refundable diagnostic fee of $35 per watch is due at the time of submission. This fee covers hands-on inspection and a written repair estimate. If you approve the repair, the bench fee is credited toward your final invoice. The bench fee is not refunded if you decline the estimate or if the watch is deemed unrepairable.
3. Estimates & Approval
All repair estimates are provided after physical inspection of the watch. No work begins until you approve the written estimate. For repairs over $500, a 50% deposit is required upon approval. Estimates are valid for 30 days. We reserve the right to revise an estimate if additional issues are discovered during repair — we will stop and contact you before proceeding.
4. Shipping & Liability
You are responsible for properly packaging and insuring your watch for inbound shipment. Sangamon TimeVault is not liable for loss or damage incurred during transit to our facility. We insure all return shipments for the declared value.
5. Turnaround Times
Standard turnaround is 4–6 weeks from estimate approval. Rush service (2-week) is available for an additional 50% surcharge. Vintage pieces or jobs requiring rare parts may take longer; we will notify you with an updated timeline.
6. Warranty
We warrant all mechanical repair work for 12 months from the date of return shipment, covering defects in workmanship. This warranty does not cover accidental damage, water damage, magnetization, or damage caused by misuse. Crystal and cosmetic work carries a 90-day warranty.
7. Abandonment Policy
Watches left unclaimed for 60 days after three reasonable contact attempts may be sold to recover incurred costs including bench fee, diagnostic time, parts ordered, and storage. We make every effort to reach customers before this step is taken.
8. Limitation of Liability
Our total liability for any claim arising from a repair shall not exceed the amount paid for that specific repair. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
9. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA. Any disputes shall be resolved in Sangamon County, Illinois.
